ON HEALTH
This Philosopher-in-Residence has been musing on health this week, in honour of the Health and Wellbeing @ Work conference, held at Birmingham’s NEC.
This reminded me of an ice-breaker I first used back in the pandemic, to open meetings or provide an interlude part-way through. Long meetings can fall into fatigue and your brain getting stuck on the agenda rather than the broader picture, so I like to pepper proceedings with something that snaps the mind out of being stuck in the mud.
I would pose the question: If you had the choice, would you have £1million now or an extra year onto your life?
I’ve received many interesting answers from the varying arenas where I’ve asked this. For what it’s worth, mine would be an extra year of life, every time (two critical health incidents within the past three years have focused the mind somewhat).
But enough about me – what would your choice be?
Add your pick in the comments or message us. I’d love to see what you think.
Next fortnight, I’ll be musing On Browsing. Drop by and take a look.
Please get in touch with any particular aspects of this subject you’d like me to write about.
In the meantime,
Happy Planning
